Slow opening of the Paradox table Find similar branches

Serguar   (2004-11-10 11:16) [0]

Hello.
There is a Paradox table. The first field is auto-incrementing, it is also key, and several more fields. When you start the application, the table opens, at the end of the work closes. The problem is slow opening this table. The more records it contains, the slower it opens. It comes to two minutes. Is this the way it should be or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

It should be so.
And, of course, you are not doing as you should ...

The same table opens in Database Desktop instantly.
And then how to do "as expected"?

Of course you’re doing something wrong! guess what, it’s easy. ;) (you use the methods of the client server application for the server database file, for sure)
more details only if you describe what exactly you are doing, and the means used.

and you also discover who is interfering?

Yes, I still do nothing at all. I chopped off everything. Only opening and closing left. The table is on the local machine. In the application, once a second, one record is added to the table (now it is commented out). On the main OnCreate form event, the OpenDb function is called

function TMainForm.OpenDb: Boolean;
begin
 try
   ParamdatTable.Open;
   Result := True;
 except
   MessageDlg("Error !", mtError, [mbOk], 0);
   Result := False;
 end;
end;

CloseDb procedure is called on the OnClose event

procedure TMainForm.CloseDb;
begin
 ParamrefTable.Close;
 ParamdatTable.Close;
end;

that's all for now ...

type ParamdatTable? TTable? then everything is bad, if not then everything is correct.

Serguar   (2004-11-10 12:16) [7]

That's it TTable. Maybe something else can be used to store so much data?

By the way. Complementary pairs of events OnCreate-OnDestroy and OnShow-OnClose.

bad, if it is TTable, then something else is tied to it (for example, a delay in seconds on the onAfterScroll event, for example, or something similar on another / or the master detail connection is used, or the wrong type said)
