When writing a query in TQuery, all records are loaded. Find similar branches

I make a request in TQuery:

select tem from base.DB

At this, all 200000 records are immediately read. How to make sure that only a few hundred of the first are read, and the rest as they are loaded?

Igorok   (2001-12-06 15:54) [1]

try this:
select TOP 100 tem from base.DB
100 is the number of records

D5 and TQuery, so it's about BDE.
And who said that BDE reads ALL records at once?

Vadim   (2001-12-06 17:37) [3]

Correct the MAX ROWS parameter with -1 as much as you need in the BDE settings.
