How through the API it is possible to intercept data from the linear input of a sound (namely: the amplitude and frequency of the signal) without saving this data in * .WAV, but transfer it to * .txt.
Any advice or source will be greatly appreciated!
A big request to write on the soap (lousy channel).

1) You can only receive data from the sound system as a signal level over time! Windows will not do the conversion for you. To receive data from sound, use message MM_WIM_DATA - read the Win32 help. This message increases the sound buffer!
2) After receiving the data buffer, you do FFT (fast Fourier transform) and you get the frequencies and their intensities.
